House rules Texel lighthouse

At Texel Lighthouse, we want that everyone can enjoy the museum in a pleasant and safe manner. That is why we have house rules for visitors. You can find them clearly listed here.

  • Reserve a time slot in advance via the website, arrive on time (within the hour of the time slot)
  • We ask visitors to wear appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes when visiting the lighthouse; flip-flops, bathing slippers and swimwear are not permitted.
  • Children under the age of 13 are welcome at the lighthouse when accompanied by an adult.
  • Running and shouting are not permitted in the lighthouse or on the grounds.
  • Pushchairs, balance bikes and (stunt) scooters are not allowed in the lighthouse; there is space to store them on the ground floor, at your own risk.
  • Visitors must treat our collection, the building and the outdoor area with care; any damage caused by visitors is their responsibility.
  • Clearly recognisable, certified assistance dogs are welcome in the museum; other animals are not.
  • Visitors who are unable to move around the museum independently may bring one companion free of charge upon presentation of a valid companion card or doctor’s certificate.
  • Food and drinks are not permitted in the lighthouse.
  • The entire lighthouse and outdoor area are smoke-free; e-cigarettes are also not permitted.
  • Have you lost something in the museum? We keep lost property for a maximum of two months.
  • There is CCTV surveillance both inside the museum and outside, and the recordings are temporarily stored by Vuurtoren Texel.
  • Please always follow the instructions of our staff.
